How did majoring in English prepare you for your career?

Upon graduating high school, I knew I wanted to work in sports, but I wasn’t sure in what capacity. After becoming more comfortable with writing through assignments in English classes, I knew that sports journalism was the career path for me.

How has majoring in English enriched your life?

I feel confident in my ability to articulate my thoughts and ideas to employers, co-workers, family and friends.

What advice or insight do you have for ßÏÀÖÔ° alumni and students interested in your career field?

Write early and often. There is no substitute for experience. Also, don’t be afraid to be creative in your writing — you’ll learn what works for your style and what doesn’t.
